Saadat heads the Corporate and Civil Litigation team at AHM & CO and regularly appears before the High Courts, Special Tribunals and Lower Courts in matters ranging from corporate restructuring, financial recovery, taxation, minority shareholder rights, enforcement of arbitration awards and disputes involving immovable property.

Saadat has appeared before the Hon’ble Lahore High Court in a broad spectrum of matter ranging from the merger of 5 commercial entities into a single public limited company, represented private individuals in challenging the vires of the levy imposed by the Income Support Levy Act 2013 (2019 PTD 1414), Challenged the composition of Punjab Revenue Authority (PLD 2019 Lah 729); Appeared before the Multan Bench and the Principle seat of the Lahore High Court on behalf of a dealer of earthmoving and power generation equipment for the challenging the levy of approach rental charges against its warehouse by the National Highway Authority; appeared on behalf of the parents challenging the exponential increase in tuition fees by the Private Schools.

Saadat regularly advise clients on corporate and transactional matters and in the past has advised financial institutions and corporate entities in matter relating to project financing, corporate restructuring, drafting, and vetting various contracts and agreements relating to employment, conveyancing and financing. In the past has advised a leading bank which was providing project financing to a joint venture of a construction company for the completion of a fly-over to be constructed under the Lahore Ring Road Project, recently advised a renowned IT company from the MENA region in establishing a subsidiary in Pakistan.

Representation experience

  • Challenging the vires of the income support levy which was levied under the Income Support Levy Act 2013 (2019 PTD 1414.)
  • Challenging the composition and establishment of Punjab Revenue Authority (PLD 2019 729.
  • Assisted senior counsel who appeared on behalf of parents association challenging the exponential increase in school fee before the Lahore High Court Lahore (PLD 2018 Lah 509).
  • Appeared before the Hon’ble Lahore High Court, Lahore in the matter relating to the merger of 7 public and private limited companies into a single entity. Recently advised and appeared before the High Court in the matter relating to the merger of a renowned refrigeration company into another entity.
  • He was part of a team that advised the Government of Punjab in drafting the Punjab Public Private Act 2019.
  • Prepared and vetted the finance documents on behalf of Bank of Punjab for the financing of the Kahna Kaacha Flyover project constructed by ZKB & Reliable JV.
  • Advised renowned IT Company in MENA Region in establishing its Regional office in Pakistan. The assignment included the incorporation of the said entity with the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan and drafting the HR Policy and the initial Employment Agreements, Rental Agreements and Retainership Agreements for the Company.
  • Advised the majority partner in a leading boutique and pret wear business on a dispute relating to the management and control of the Partnership entity. The matter has since been resolved with the retirement of the minority partner and the control being retained by the majority partner on not just the entity but on all intellectual rights relating to the business.
